E-Mail-Client Settings
To send emails directly from your own email account, PROPUP allows you to configure your SMTP server. This ensures that all emails are sent on behalf of your company, resulting in more professional and trustworthy communication.
Please follow the instructions below to correctly set up your SMTP server. Note that some providers may require additional steps to enable SMTP access.
SMTP Settings by Provider
Office 365
- SMTP Host: smtp.office365.com
- Port: 587 (TLS)
- Authentication: required
- Note: Make sure SMTP authentication is enabled in your Office 365 account. You can check this in the Admin Center under “Services & Add-ins” → “SMTP Authentication”.
Exchange (self-hosted)
- SMTP Host: varies, typically smtp..com
- Port: 587 (TLS) or custom
- Authentication: required
- Note: Depending on your server configuration, additional setup may be required to allow SMTP sending.
Outlook.com
- SMTP Host: smtp-mail.outlook.com
- Port: 587 (TLS)
- Authentication: required
- Note: Verify your SMTP settings. If two-factor authentication is enabled, you may need to use an app password.
Google / Gmail
- SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com
- Port: 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
- Authentication: required
- Note: Use an app-specific password. Google no longer supports “less secure app access.”
Apple iCloud Mail
- SMTP Host: smtp.mail.me.com
- Port: 587 (TLS)
- Authentication: required
- Note: Use an app-specific password if two-factor authentication is enabled.
onOffice
- SMTP Host: smtp.onoffice.de
- Port: 587 (TLS)
- Authentication: required
- Note: Ensure that SMTP settings are correctly configured in your onOffice account.
Additional Notes on SMTP Activation
Some providers block SMTP access by default for security reasons. Please consider the following:
- Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Use an app-specific password instead of your regular password.
- SMTP Authentication: Ensure it is enabled in your account settings.
- Security Policies: Check your provider’s specific requirements.
